You had to know other online booksellers were going to take advantage of the whole AmazonFail thing this week, didn’t you?

Some of you may be interested in this offer from Powell’s Books, but you’ve only got today and tomorrow to take advantage of it.

At Powell’s, all books are created equal. We hold this truth to be self-evident. Whether any given title is deserving of a wide readership, we leave that decision to you, our customers.

In the spirit of such freedoms that perhaps we too often take for granted, today we’re offering friends a special, winning deal.

Just enter the code “#powellswin” by 11:59 pm (Pacific) on Thursday, April 16, 2009, and you’ll save 20% on your order of $20 or more.

So if you’ve been looking around for online deals — now might be the time to go shopping.

I’ve just spent about 45 minutes reading about the #amazonfail fiasco. I’ve been out of town and I missed the whole thing. I started at the bottom of your page and worked my way up to here. I’ve gone to all the links as well. It’s actually been rather fun. I’m not making light of the situation as I can get seriously upset about any form of book banning. What I’m trying to say is that I enjoy getting righteous about this kind of issue. I’m guessing here but, it seems from the tone of your posts that you enjoy a little “righteous anger” as well. Keep going with it. I wrote a post on book banning not long ago and it looks like it’s time again. Thanks for these posts.

I like the look of your “new” blog.

Thanks, Margot. I do get a little “righteously angry” now and then. I call it “the Berserker waking up,” ha! I need to post the latest understanding of the AmazonFail thing — that perhaps it was a slight glitch, although I still think it was rather too targetted to be only that. And I definitely don’t trust them now, especially if they can screw that up so royally and still want us to entrust our credit card info to them. Erm…

Anyway, I’m glad you like how the blog looks. When I saw yours yesterday, I knew right away that you had used the same template I did. 🙂
