Abraham Lincoln – Vampire Hunter??

Ha! And here I thought Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was going way out there. (Ooh, look at that link! They have Jane Austen listed as the author. Hahahaha! Ahem.) (Though I suppose she has to be mentioned, since the zombies are sort of “injected” into the main story.) That book was published last week, and just shot up the charts.

Anyway, now Seth Grahame-Smith, who did that book, appears set to do another rewriting, of real history this time. I give you – Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter!

It seems that the success of the original book, published by Quirk Books, induced Grand Central, of the Hatchette Book Group, to sign Grahame-Smith to a two-book deal. The one about Lincoln won’t be based on another novel, but will be completely written by Grahame-Smith.

Some Jane Austen purists had been horrified at the way he turned Pride and Prejudice into a zombie story. Can’t you just imagine the outcry that’s about to blow up now, over his turning Abraham Lincoln into a vampire hunter?

Pull up the footstools and make the popcorn. This could be wild, before it’s done.
