Blog Award!

premio_dardos_awardI’m so excited! I’ve been given the Premio Dardos Award by Lisa at Minds Alive on the Shelves! My first award. *wiping eyes* I’d like to thank the Academy…

But seriously, Lisa’s is one of the finest book blogs I know, and Lisa herself has one of the keenest and most well-educated minds, so this is indeed an honour.

Here are the responsibilities attendant upon this award, as described by Lisa:

“This award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his or her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day. The rules to follow are: 1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link. 2) Pass the award to up to 15 other blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.”

So thank you so much, Lisa! And boy, how to have to choose… I imagine mine will be mostly book-related, and yet one doesn’t need to do a book blog to meet all the standards mentioned above. So here goes:

I should add that I don’t necessarily expect anyone to repeat this, if they’re really not that into awards. No pressure here. And there could have been ten more, easily, if I didn’t have a couple other deadlines I need to meet today. I never put anyone on my blogroll if I don’t really appreciate them and love their work.

I know how you feel. With my cheapo article-writing gig, where I have to do two or three a day, it feels like I’m gasping to keep up on anything else I need to do, too. So you have all my empathy, believe me.
