Sorry, but this just makes me howl. For so many reasons, on so many levels. Not the least of which is my former identity as a fundamentalist.
According to several different sources (including the Religion News Blog), one of the most stolen books in North America is the Bible. Yep, that’s right. The “Thou Shalt Not Steal” book.
Can’t help it. This makes me howl. Of course, one could argue that, well, all those people stealing Bibles obviously need the book, huh?
You just gotta shake your head.
It almost makes you feel better, though, when you discover that Abbie Hoffman’s Steal This Book is also near the top of the list of most-stolen books.
I do confess, however, that my eyebrows raise when I read in the Times Online that Britain’s most stolen book is London A-Z, essentially a pocket-sized book of maps. Or the Oxford English Dictionary.
I just find all of this so funny. People, eh?

I wonder if they are counting all the Bibles that no doubt go missing from hotel and motel rooms?
I had heard that about the Bible and I agree it is pretty damn funny.
