Teaser Tuesday – “The Enchantment Emporium” by Tanya Huff

teasertuesdays2Well, lookee here! I’m finally getting back to the Tuesday Teaser, and it’s not a Brian Freeman novel. Although, um…it could have been, since I started another one yesterday. But to give you a break from All-Brian-Freeman-all-the-time, I’m kind of in All-Tanya-Huff-all-the-time mode instead. Ha!

Remember to check out the Should Be Reading blog, where MizB hosts the Teaser Tuesdays, to see other people’s teasers for this week, and to leave your own link if you want.

So. A reminder of the procedure.

  1. Grab your current read
  2. Let it open randomly
  3. Grab two sentences from that page and post them, being sure to include the name of the book and the page number, in case someone else wants to read the book too
  4. NO SPOILERS

Here are mine for today, from the book I also reviewed in my previous post. I’m cheating, with three sentences instead of two:

Time passed because Charlie played her heartbeat on her base strings. Without that to ground her, she would have had no grasp of when to emerge. Time moved differently in the Wood, if and when it moved at all and, for all the time she’d spent traveling, she’d never sat still and allowed the Wood to move around her before.

The Enchantment Emporium by Tanya Huff, page 258

Just one more little tantalizing tidbit to get you to read the book. :D
