I saw yesterday that Melanie at Indextrious Reader has posted a summary of her 2009 reading, in her post, Best of the Year, 2009. I really like that idea, so I’m doing one of my own. Alas, I’ve managed to finish about a third of the number of books Melanie has (I used to be a much faster reader), but there were still some interesting things, I think. So here’s my summary, based on Melanie’s:
Books Read 2009: 48
By women: 19
By men: 28
Non-gendered reading (multiple authors, etc.): 1
Fiction: 40
Non-fiction: 8
Biography: 3
Science-related: 3
Rereads: 3
Challenges undertaken: 1
Challenges completed: 0
Review copies read: 10 (counting one ebook)
Library copies read: 35
My own books read: 13
Favourite Books:
Ambassadors from Earth – Jay Gallentine
A Golden Age – Tahmima Anam
The Case for Books – Robert Darnton
Descartes’ Bones – Russell Shorto

Descartes’ Bones looks interesting. On to the TBR List it goes!
My Best and Worst is HERE
*puts “The Case for Books” on my TBR*
Looks like you had a great reading year. Hope you find even more good books in 2010.
I like seeing everyone’s lists – and I really do want to read The Case for Books now. I see you are also a big library user
