Banned Books Week: Some Suggestions

If you’re wondering what banned books to read this week, in defiance of those who try to legislate what we read, see, and even think, here are some ideas: 50 Banned Books That Everyone Should Read.

I’m pleased to report that I’ve already read 17 of these banned books. Thirty-three to go! Though not all this week. (*gasp*)

Go. Read. Celebrate the freedom!

Wow, I’ve actually read 27 of these! 23 to go (although I’ve heard a couple of these are pretty boring, so I might not get to them)…

Also, I suggest getting through all three Pullman books–THE GOLDEN COMPASS was okay, but it all didn’t make sense (for me) until the final book, THE AMBER SPYGLASS.

That’s good to know. I liked the first two, and then haven’t read the last one because comments by other people made me suspect it wasn’t going to turn out in a way I would like. So maybe I’ll try the third one after all. 🙂
