I love this so much! Copied from my LiveJournal post:
A friend on Facebook posted something fantastic yesterday. Tattuinardoela Saga: If Star Wars Were an Icelandic Saga.
Anyone who enjoyed the Appendices in Lord of the Rings, or who (like I did) loved Christopher Tolkien’s twelve-volume publication of his father’s writings about Middle-Earth, will recognize and appreciate this Star Wars saga. This post even discuses alternate versions of the saga, one of them being where Darth Vader kills his son and lives on in regret. I read this whole thing (and plan to read the saga, proper, as the guy actually writes it in Old Norse with a Modern English translation) simply cackling in glee. It’s so academic and so perfect!
If you’re interested, check out that post first of all. But here’s the entire thing in PDF form: TATTUINARDOELA SAGA: The Saga of the People of the Tattuin River Valley.
